SCDAI offers multiple support groups! We encourage you to pick the one that's right for you and join us for monthly catch-ups and discussions.

Taking Notes during a Virtual Meeting

Illinois Statewide Support Group 

​Check our homepage and your email for actual meeting dates. Meetings will take place one Thursday of the month.

Join us to be a part of the conversation as the sickle cell community comes together to discuss different topics and do a variety of different activities.

Monthly topics and activities will vary. Stay tuned for the details as we get closer to the meeting dates!

All-Male Support Group

Calling all Males! Join us for the Virtual Male Support Group Meeting! Join if you are concerned, interested or passionate about Sickle Cell regarding the Male perspective. We welcome Males with Sickle Cell Disease, their Caregivers and those who seek more insight, awareness and counseling.

SCDAI hosts two statewide group chats on GroupMe, a free messaging app. We have two groups:​

  • Caregivers to someone w/ SCD
