Purpose & Target

This conference is designed for providers, nurses, health care professionals, educators, social workers, parents, students and the community at large.

The purpose of this educational activity is to strengthen participants’ knowledge base about sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait through lecture, discussion and the sharing of current and future treatment regimen.

Objectives

Identify current evidence based practices to improve access and the quality of care for individuals with sickle cell disease
Discuss complications related to sickle cell disease & sickle cell trait
Describe resources available to individuals with sickle cell
Explain importance of collaborative efforts across healthcare disciplines
